Jammu, Mar 16: A national seminar on “Paradigm Shift in Teacher Education” was organized by the Department of Education, University of Jammu, here today.
In the inaugural session, Prof. R.D. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, congratulated the Department for organizing Seminar on such a theme that can acquaint the delegates with the contexts and content of the present teacher education programme.
Prof. R.P. Vadhera in his keynote address presented his views about need and importance of Paradigm shift in Teacher Education.
Earlier, Prof. Renu Nanda, Head of the Department, threw light on the importance of organizing such Seminars. Prof. Mubarak Singh, Dean Faculty of Education introduced the gathering to the theme of the Seminar.
Dr. Kajal Manhas presented the vote of thanks.
Four technical sessions were organized after the inauguration which were chaired by Prof. R.P. Vadhera, Prof. Amit Kauts, Prof. Kaushal Samotra, and Prof. Darshana Sharma and co-chaired by Dr. Kavita Suri, Dr. Madhu Singh and Dr. Deepa Sikand. Post lunch technical sessions were chaired by Prof. Kaushal Samotra and Prof. Mubarak Singh.  The technical sessions were organized by Dr. S.K. Panda, Dr. Kajal Manhas, Minakshi and Dr. Niharika Panda.
In the Valedictory Session, Prof. U.S. Sharma presented an overview regarding the various sub-themes of the seminar. Chief guest Prof. Jigar Mohammed, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu, presented his enlightening views regarding the need of Paradigm Shift in Teacher Education.
The votes of thanks was given by Dr. S K Panda.
