National Mathematical Year celebrated

UDHAMPUR, Oct 6: Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) No 1, Udhampur celebrated National Mathematical Year at Cluster level, in which students and faculty members from six schools participated actively.
On the occasion, Dr R Prasad, Principal, Host school, was the chief guest, who declared open the celebration of the National Mathematical Year.
Various competitions were organised including display of exhibits and models, quiz, essay writing, etc, on the occasion.
In Display of Exhibits and Models competition, Urvash and Sushrita of KV No 2, Udhampur, Haroon Malik and Rajat Sharma of KV, Kishtwar, Rahul Kotwal and Vivek Raina of KV, Bhaderwah, bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In Maths Magazine competition, KV No 1, Udhampur bagged first position, whereas, the second and third positions were secured by KV No 2, Udhampur and KV Jindrah, respectively.
In Quiz competition, Rahul Pelwar of KV No 1 Udhampur, Saroj of KV No 1, Japanjot of KV No 1, Udhampur and Naiyyar of KV Kishtwar, emerged winners and were selected for regional participation.
In Essay writing competition (class VI to VIII category), Muskaan Bela of KV No 1, Shubham Jandial of KV No 1 and Mohd Sajid Khan of KV Kishtwar claimed first, second and third positions respectively. In class IX and X category, Prashant Kumar Rai of KV No 1, Udhampur and Shubham Raina of KV Kishtwar shared first position, while, the second position was bagged by Mehak Dhar of KV No 1, Udhampur. In Class XI and XII category, Sanchi of KV No 1, Udhampur, Apeksha of KV No 2, Udhampur and Mehak Raina of KV No 1, Udhampur claimed first third positions.
In power point presentation by Maths teachers, Dr Tej Singh got first position, whereas, Rohtash bagged second position. In Essay writing competition, Lakhbir Singh of KV No 1, Udhampur and Mr Gandotra of KV No 2, Udhampur, bagged first and second positions respectively.
At the end, Dr R Prasad, distributed award to the winners, followed by vote of thanks by Rohtash, PGT Maths.
