JAMMU, Nov 24: Two-Day National Level Painting Workshop concluded here today organized by Govt. College for Women Parade Ground Jammu in its premises here today.
About 200 students across Jammu Region took part in the workshop besides senior noted artists.
Prof R M K Bamezai, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board University was the chief guest on the valedictory function of Artists Workshop. He felicitated the Participants Artists with Memento and Shawls.
In his Address, Prof Bamezai threw light upon the significance of Art in the Society and said that every education is incomplete without extra-curricular activities, which leads to the holistic development of the students. He in depth spoke on the intricacies of Art and disclosed that there is need to strike a balance between inner as well as apparent sensuous world. Art and Culture related activities purify the soul and helps the seeker to see the life in right perspective.
Out of the participant artists prominent were Rajan Fulari from New Delhi, Rakesh Kumar from Kashmir University, Rohit Verma, Milan Sharma from Jammu University and K K Gandhi from Jammu who also curated this event.
It is pertinent to mention here that the workshop was inaugurated yesterday by Dr S P Vaid, Additional Director General Police Headquarters as Chief Guest and Dr Hemant Sharma, Special Secretary, Higher Education. Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, presented a memorabilia to the Guest, Dignitaries and acknowledged her heartfelt gratitude for them.
