NEW DELHI: Congress has hit back at the Modi Government over Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s stance over equal applicability of law to all and reiterated the demand of sacking of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in “Lalitgate”.   In apparent reference to National Herald case against Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and her deputy Rahul Gandhi, Mr Jaitley had quipped at a programme “No one is above the law..,..India has never accepted the dictat that the Queen is not answerable to the law”.   The Opposition party has hit back the ‘quote’ at the Government in a satirical way.   In a tweet posted at its official twitter page last evening, the party said “FM @arunjaitley has finally spoken in *national interest*. PM Modi should listen to him and sack Raje ji and Sushma ji”. “Jaitley Ji we totally agree with you…please try convincing the PM to sack them(read Swaraj and Ms Raje)”, the party added in its post that has pinned a picture showing Ms Swaraj, Ms Raje and IPL former Chief Lalit Modi. The party also responded to another remark made by Mr Jaitley over the violation of law in providing loan by it to the National Herald. Mr Jaitley had reportedly said that in the loan transaction, tax exempted income was used for taxable purpose. However, in another tweet the opposition party defended itself saying “No Wrong In National Herald”.   ‘There is no restriction in law for political parties to give loans”, the party asserted. It added that Election Commission of India while hearing a complaint against the party had held wayback in November 2012, that parties can give loans. (AGENCIES)
