National Flag hoisting, cultural programmes mark Republic Day celebrations in educational institutions

JAMMU, Jan 27: National Flag hoisting and cultural programmes marked Republic Day celebrations in various educational institutions.
Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, Prof Devanand unfurled the National Flag at campus site at Bagla, District Samba. The flag hoisting ceremony was attended by the University Registrar, Jit Singh, Sub Divisional Police Officer, SS Sambyal, Senior Consultant, Dr PS Pathania, Academic Administrator, Prof Depak Raj Gupta, Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof NR Sharma, Deans of various schools, Officers of the University, Heads of the Departments, faculty, supporting staff, and students. The Security Director, Security In charge of the University and Protocol Officer were also present on the occasion. Earlier, the flag hoisting ceremony was performed at the Temporary Academic Block of the University at Sainik Colony, Jammu where also the tri-colour was unfurled by the VC.
Republic Day was celebrated at University of Jammu. Unfurling tricolour at Vice Chancellor Prof RD Sharma said the academicians have a big role to create and disseminate knowledge and prepare students, who in turn will set out to fulfill the dream of making India a vibrant nation. At the arrival of the VC, Guard of Honour was presented by the Jammu University Security Guards led by Capt SR Dubey, Security Officer. Earlier Prof Pankaj Srivastav, Dean Students Welfare presented the welcome address. On the occasion, cultural items were presented. Prof Sameer Gupta, Co-Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, gave the formal vote of thanks.
On the occasion of 66th Republic Day, Tricolour was unfurled by Prof Sudhir K Jain, Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University at University campus in the presence of Registrar, Ajay Khajuria, deans, directors, faculty members, staff and students. A scintillating cultural programme was presented by students.
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated Republic Day and the National Flag was unfurled by Registrar of the Varsity Mohammad Rashid Choudhary. Guard of honour was given by JKAP contingent. On the occasion, University officers, faculty members, staff and students were present. Vice Chancellor Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal in his message impressed upon teachers and other staff members to work hard and contribute for developing the nation in the larger interest of the Country.
66th Republic Day was celebrated at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J). The National Flag was hoisted by Dr Pradeep K Sharma, Vice Chancellor in presence of statutory officers, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff and students.
In connection with celebration of 66th Republic Day a function was organized at Government Polytechnic for Women Jammu where Principal of the College hoisted the National flag. Students and staff members participated in the function and presented colourful cultural programmes.
To mark the celebration of 66th Republic Day, a collegiate debate competition on the topic “Is reformation required in the Constitution of India?’’ was organized at Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET), in which faculty members, staff and students participated. Pragti Jamwal, student of CSE, 3rd Semester bagged first position, Savitoj Singh, Civil Engg 3rd Semester got the 2nd position and Waleed Saif and Karan Pratap Singh jointly shared the 3rd position. Dr Seema Narain, Director YCET, Er Bodh Raj Verma, Dean Academics, Er Dinesh Gupta, Club Co-ordinator, Er Loveneesh Talwar, COD, Electrical Engineering and AK Kaul, TPO, Er Vidhi S Singh, Chairman, JGEI and Er Renu Bangroo, Managing Director were also present.
The management, students and staff of Dogra College of Education, Dogra Degree College and Dogra Law College hoisted the National Flag to celebrate 66th Republic Day. Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust, Gulchain Singh Charak unfurled the tri-color. Secretary Dogra Educational Trust Samar Dev Singh Charak, Prof BD Damral, Director (Academics) DET and all the heads of Dogra Law College, Dogra College of Education and Dogra Degree College were also present.
Kawa College of Education and Kawa Institute of Management and Technology celebrated 66th Republic Day. The programme started with hoisting of National Flag by Dr Anita Bali, Principal, Kawa College of Education. Students presented cultural programmes.
Chenab College of Education in collaboration with BIMTAS, celebrated Republic Day. National Flag was hoisted and National song was sung on this occasion. Among all those who were present on this occasion were the Principals of both colleges as well as staff members. Principal of BIMTAS Virender Gupta and Principal of Chenab College Kamaldeep Kour delivered a brief speech highlighting the importance of celebrating this day.
Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing celebrated 66th Republic Day. The programme started by Flag hoisting by MS Katoch, Chairman, Kawa Group of Institutions, Jammu. The students of RGCN arranged many cultural programmes. The first year GNM students won in patriotic song competition and were awarded certificates. Anjana Bavouria, CEO. Kawa Group, Johny Kutty Joseph, Vice Principal, RGCN and faculty members were also present on the occasion.
66th Republic Day was celebrated at Galaxy College of Education, Sainik Colony. Arun Kumar Sharma, Chairman of the college unfurled the National Flag. A brief introduction on the importance of this day was given by Prof Anita. The function ended with vote of thanks by Principal of the college.
Republic Day was celebrated at Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Digiana. On the occasion, Rangil Singh, Former Minister and President, J&K Olympic Association was the chief guest and unfurled the National Flag and took salute from college contingents. A cultural programme was presented by students. Earlier, Principal Dr Kiran Luthra presented the welcome address.
Republic Day was celebrated at KCS College of Education. Principal Prof OP Sharma unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem. Students presented cultural items and patriotic songs.
Republic Day was celebrated at Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur, Bantalab. President, HESK, BL Razdan was the chief guest and Prof HL Misri was the guest of Honour. AK Raina, general secretary, HESK, Principal of GMCEJ Prof GL Koul, staff members and students were also present. The students of GMCEJ presented a captivating cultural bonanza focused on patriotism.
Government Sri Ranbir Higher Secondary School, Parade celebrated Republic Day. Principal JS Manhas hoisted the National Flag and delivered a lecture on the national spirit. School band played National Anthem and students took part in march past.

J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra Higher Secondary School for Hearing and Speech Handicapped Boys and Girls celebrated 66th Republic Day. The students, teaching faculty and good number of parents attended the function, besides some life members and members of Kendra Management Body. 66th Republic Day was celebrated at Government High School, Kathar, tehsil Akhnoor. Sarpanch Shiv Kumar hoisted the National Flag. A cultural programme was also presented by the students, in which Diksha Sharma of class 10th won winner trophy.
Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm at Model Academy Sagra, in which large number of children alongwith their parents took part. The function commenced with hoisting of the National flag, followed by National Anthem. The function was graced by the chief guest Commander Krishna Ghati Brigade, Commanding Officer Balnoi Battalion, Sarpanch and Nambardar of Balnoi, Sagra and neighbouring villagers and other civil dignitaries. The students presented various cultural items.
Anand Bhartiya Vidyalaya (ABV), Ban Rathian celebrated Republic Day wherein Chairman of the School, KL Abrol unfurled the National Flag. Children presented cultural programme based on patriotism. KL Abrol distributed trophies, certificates of merit among the students who excelled in academics and cultural activities. Earlier, Principal Ritu Abrol presented the welcome address.
Spectrum Social Public School, Jagti, Nagrota celebrated Republic Day. Amir singh, Ex-Sarpanch Jagti unfurled the National Flag in presence of Asha Ram, Sarpanch, Rasal Singh, Abdul Rashid, Chairman of Lok Sabha Society, Principal Naseem Akthar, teachers Poonam Jamwal and Sunita Shabyal and students.
Modern Secular Institute of Education High School Laxmipuram, Chinore celebrated Republic Day. Managing Director of the Institute KK Rao along with MK Bhan, Vice Principal unfurled the national flag in presence of students and faculty members.
66th Republic Day was celebrated at Pinewood School, Hamirpur, in which students, parents and faculty members took part. The celebrations commenced with hoisting of National Flag by Bde Cdr of Bhimber Gali Bde, followed by National Anthem. The students presented a colourful cultural programme on the occasion. Sushiela Narendra Jit Singh Vidya Mandir High School, Camp Road, Talab Tillo celebrated 66th Republic Day. Sonika Sharma, Nzati, Muthi was the chief guest, who unfurled the National Flag. Neelam Sabharwal, Principal highlighted the importance of the day. Staff members and students were also present on the occasion.
Dream Land Public School, Sial Jattan, District Udhampur celebrated Republic Day. Siddheshwar Sadotra, Chairman unfurled the National Flag in presence of Principal Siddheshwar Sadhotra. On the occasion, school children presented a cultural programme based on patriotism.
Republic Day was celebrated at Elite Public High School, Om Nagar, Udhaywalla. Managing Director Vasudha Mahajan unfurled the National Flag in presence of Principal Kiran Durani, staff members and students. Children presented speeches and skits.
DAV High School, Exchange Road celebrated Republic Day. Arun Chowdhary, president hoisted the National Flag in presence of Principal Asha Bakshi, staff members and students. On the occasion, students presented colourful cultural progamme.
Dream Land Public School, Udhampur celebrated Republic Day. Chairman of the School, Om Parkash Sadotra unfurled the National flag. On the occasion, children presented cultural programme.
Republic Day was celebrated at Government Middle School, Nagrota, Zone Udhampur, wherein Headmaster Rajesh Sharma hoisted the National Flag in presence of staff members. Students presented culture items on the occasion under the supervision of Rakesh Khajuria, PET.
The students and staff of Raghunath Sanskrit Mahavidyalay Birpur celebrated Republic Day. Secretary, J&K Dharmarth Trust, Shashi Khajuria was the chief guest, who unfurled the National Flag and took salute of the parade. Students presented various cultural programmes. A function was also organized at Army Goodwill School, Lam wherein flag hosting and presentation of folk and patriotic songs by school children were carried out. A large number of civil population and civil dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Cambridge Public School, Paloura celebrated Republic Day, wherein Principal Baljit Manhas unfurled the National Flag. Students presented various cultural activities.
Indira Public School celebrated Republic Day, wherein school children performing cultural programmes and sang patriotic songs. Principal Sanjay Padha unfurled the National Flag.
Guru Nanak Public High School, Saini Enclave, Gole Gujral Road celebrated Republic Day. Ex Dy Mayor Dharamvir Singh Jamwal was the chief guest, who hoisted the National Flag. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students.
Government Middle School, Patniyal, Zone Marh celebrated Republic Day. Sarpanch Ashwani Kumar Sharma hoisted the National Flag in presence of Principal Suman Lata, staff members, VEC members, students and their parents. The students presented colourful cultural programme depicting patriotism.
Government Middle School, Old Janipur celebrated 66th Republic Day. The school children performed cultural programmes and sang patriotic songs. The  National Flag was hoisted by Deep Bhardwaj, Ex-Corporator and Sunita Sharma, Headmaster in presence of staff members, students and people.
Government Girls Middle School, Kabir Colony celebrated 66th Republic Day. MLA West Sat Sharma hoisted the National Flag. Cultural programme were presented by girl students.  Headmaster Rattana Rana presented vote of thanks.
Government Middle School (Boys), Kot celebrated Republic Day. Incharge Headmaster Neelam Bhagat along with Panch Purnima Devi hoisted the National Flag in presence of students, parents and staff members. Students presented speeches and cultural items.
Government Girls Middle School, Amb, zone Bhalwal and Government Primary School, Amb celebrated Republic Day. On the occasion, Sarpanch of the Panchayat Amb, Amar Nath Balgotra unfurled the Tricolour. Headmaster Jangee Raina highlighted the importance of the day.
Government Middle School, Kalri Bhalwal celebrated Republic Day with. The children enthralled the audience through various cultural activities.
Lam Battalion celebrated 66th Republic day, wherein Colonel Dipendra Singh, CO Lam Battalion hoisted the tri-colour at Government Higher Secondary School, Laroka.  The school children from around area presented various cultural activities including march past, patriotic songs and cultural programmes. Colonel Dipendra Singh presented prizes to the students.
Phoenix Classes and Tawi Vihar Welfare Association celebrated Republic Day. The National Flag was hoisted by Lt Gen (retd) LP Sadotra and Vandna Gutpa, Principal, House Corporation Cooperative Public School. Sadhotra distributed prizes to children, who excelled in various events in the past. In Essay writing competition, Parikshit Jamwal and Neeraj secured first and second positions respectively, whereas Shivam Rajput and Vidya shared third position. In slogan writing competition, Palak Sharma, Aastha Sharma and Navya Bali secured first, second and third positions respectively. In Painting Competition, Owais Yassin, Abhi Uday and Falisha Iqbal secured first, second and third positions respectively.
