Over 50 delegates from Jammu and Kashmir are taking part in this two-day annual national event under the leadership of J&K state unit president of the VBKP, Pt Daya Ram Sharma. This is the fourth such annual convention of this reputed national Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
Last year in December, the annual convention was held at Katra Mata Vaishnodevi while the second one at Holy city of Haridwar. Its first convention was held at Gurugram, the land of Guru Drona Acharya.
National president of the VBKP, Subhash Kaushik said that the NGO is committed to promote Vedic culture and values and ancient language of Vedas, which is Sanskrit. He regretted that Sanskrit language is at the verge of extinction in various states of our country. The Government must take effective steps to promote the same.
He said the organization is also committed for the abolition of dowry and veil (parda) system. It honours the members from Brahman community for their outstanding contribution in various fields every year, besides providing financial assistance to the poor and needy members of the community. It works for bringing reforms in Vedic rituals and supports those who intend to enhance knowledge and become Vedic scholars by arranging free education for them.
Mr Kaushik disclosed that all the arrangements for the smooth conduct of two-day convention have been finalized.
