National Art Festival concludes

JAMMU, Aug 25: National Art Festival organized by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts in collaboration with Kala Kendra, Jammu concluded today with the valedictory ceremony. Vikram Randhawa, MLC was the chief guest whereas Raman Suri, State Executive Member, BJP, J&K was the guest of honour on this occasion.
Pt. Kewal K Sharma, President, JKCCA, Gokel Dembi, veteran artist and Mushtaaque Ali Khan, Advisor, JKCCA were the special guests on this occasion.
O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA, Dr. Arvinder Amn, Secretary Kala Kendra and Additional Secretary, JKAACL, Dr Baljit Raina, Anil Saraf and Jang S. Verman, Advisor, JKCCA were present in the ceremony.
Welcoming the guests, artists and students of various schools, O P Sharma gave a brief about the performance and future activities of JKCCA.
Speaking on this occasion, Vikram Randhawa said that creativity among youth can help the grow as better citizens. He said that the environment should be given to the children for doing creative work, particularly in the remote areas where accessibility to such activities is less in practice.
Pt. Kewal K Sharma, Mushtaaque Ali Khan and Gokel Dembi also expressed their views on this occasion.
The artists whose works were been displayed in the art exhibition included Shakti Kumari, Anuradha, Deepa Soni, Payal Chadha Gupta, Amrit Kaur, Jang S. Verman, T S Batra, Gokel Dembi, Kanwalnain Bhan, N D Jamwal. Sunita Gandhi, Shivani Koul Bhat, Megha Khajuria, Kaunain Zubair, Manoj Chopra, Ashok Mehra and O P Sharma (Jammu), Aslam Naqishbandi (Srinagar), M Akram LKhan (Reasi), Dharminder Sharma, K S Gill, Gaytri, Priyanka Sharma (Punjab), Prabhinder Lall (Chandigarh), Anupama Singh, Sunita Kumari, Dr. A K Dixit, V S Rahi (New Delhi), Rajesh Yadav, Nisha Soni (Rajsthan), Dr. Mamta Singh (Uttarakhand), Pratima Singh, Dr. Ramshabad Singh, Moiteree (Uttar Pradesh), Vipin Kumar (Bihar), Rakesh K Koul, (Madhya Pradesh), Jignesh Parmar, Swati sable, Ramesh Bhosale and Raghu Nawere (Maharashtra).
Art demonstrations by well known artists Kamalnain Bhan, Jang S. Verman and Deepa Soni were given to the school children who were the part of the festival. A children art competition was als conducted during the festival.
