JAMMU, July 5: Paying tributes to Shaheed Dev Raj Sharma today at his Memorial site at Bajachak (Suchetgarh), former Minister R S Chib today said that the Nation is proud of our security forces.
Chib said the security forces including our Jammu & Kashmir Police are not only fighting with the militants but also foiling ugly design of neighboring Pakistan and China.
Highlighting the martyrdom of Shaheed Dev Raj Sharma on his 23rd death anniversary, the former Minister said Naik Dev Raj Sharma of 18th Grenadiers attained martyrdom on 5th July during operation VIJAY at Kargil while showing exemplary courage.
Chib also remembered those who have laid down their lives in fighting with the Militants in Jammu and Kashmir. He also supported the policy of zero tolerance followed by the defence security forces in respect of militants those were operating in Jammu and Kashmir.
The death anniversary of the Shaheed was celebrated with full military honour. The floral tributes were paid by a contingent of 4th Madras Regiment. Besides R S Chib, T S Bajwa (former MP) and family members of Naik Dev Raj Sharma paid rich tributes.
T S Bajwa, speaking on the occasion, remembered many other martyrs who sacrificed their lives while defending the motherland.
