CHADOORA, Apr 12: National Conference provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani addressed a public meeting in Jawalapora Chadoora today and asked the people to vote in large numbers in favour of Dr Farooq Abdullah on April 30 as the NC-Congress coalition was committed to protect the secular ethos of the country as well as the State of J&K.
The public meeting was also addressed by senior NC leaders including NC provincial senior vice president Sheikh Abdul Rehman, MLC and Budgam district president Ali Mohammad Dar, NC youth president Salman Ali Sagar, provincial joint secretary Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Tariq Mohi-ud-Din and Advocate Mohammad Shafi Shaheen.
Nasir said that it was BJP that had ensured the tactical fielding of PDP candidates in Jammu to divide the anti-BJP vote and PDP had readily obliged. “Perhaps Mufti Sahab was out to barter the secular ethos and the special status of J&K for the CM’s chair. This is a daydream as NC will not allow the same to become a reality,” he stressed.
Nasir said that the NC-Congress coalition was an ideological bond welded together in the interests of the people of this State. National Conference was committed to ensure that Narendra Modi does not get to fiddle with the State’s special status and that his nefarious designs to abrogate and harm Article 370 will be foiled and defeated.
