Narcotic smuggler held, bovine smuggling foiled

KATRA, Apr 3: In continuation to the drive against drugs in Katra town, Police today apprehended a drug peddler and seized eight grams of heroin from his possession while in another success, an attempt of bovine smuggling was foiled by Police at Naka Point Nomain.
According to the Police, the accused drug peddler, identified as Munish Kumar son of Mansa Ram of Panthal, Katra, was apprehended from PCP Searli when he was carrying the contraband for illegal sale in Katra town.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 83/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra . The arrest and recovery were made by SHO PS Katra Inspr Pardeep Gupta, assisted by SI Suman Singh under the supervision of SDPO Katra Vivek Shekhar and ASP Katra Naresh Singh.
Meanwhile, Katra Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued three animals. The vehicle bearing registration number JK02BX-5160, in which the bovine animals were being smuggled, was also seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 82/2019 U/S 279/188RPC was registered at P/S Katra.
