RAJOURI, Sept 19: With the arrest of another three persons and seizure of five more kilograms of Heroin, Rajouri Police has busted a narco-terrorism module having definite link with Hizbul Mujahidin outfit.
The fresh recovery and arrests are linked to recent seizure of 7 kg Heroin and arrest of two persons. During the course of investigation, it has come to fore that the arrested person were running a narco-terrorism module with definite links with Hizbul Mujahidin terror outfit and timely action of police averted their nefarious designs to succeed.
The initial success was achieved on September 14 when a team of Rajouri Police had intercepted a vehicle bearing number JK11B- 8033 at Dhanwan Kallar and seized 7 kg Heroin from its driver, identified as Tariq Ahmed Ghanie, son of Ghulam Ahmed Ghanie. A case FIR number 484/2020 under sections 8 (a), 21/60/NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Rajouri.
During course of investigation, the accused initially disclosed the involvement of one more person namely Gowher Ahmed son of Mohd Shaban Mir resident of Buchroo Kulgam who was later arrested and both the accused persons were put on sustained interrogation to unearth all the links of these peddlers and the source of this consignment.
Finally investigation team of Rajouri police succeeded in breaking the network of drug smugglers and arrested three more accused namely Aejaz Ahmed, son of Khursheed Ahmed Sheikh, resident of Ward number 2, Poonch, Tahir Iqbal, son of Muneer Hussain of Radio Station Mohalla Ward number 2 Poonch and Nizam Din, son of Ghulab Din of Bagyal Dharra Poonch.
Four kilograms of Heroin was recovered from their possession during raids conducted by teams of Rajouri as well as Poonch Police in the area of Poonch.
Total recovery in this case is now 11 kilograms of Heroin with market value running into approximately 11 crores in International market.
