JAMMU, Mar 31: A narcotic smuggler was arrested along with seven kilograms of ganja from Fowara chowk, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from Gangyal police station led by SHO Jasbir Singh laid a naka near Fowara chowk in Greater Kailash area and intercepted a pedestrian.
During checking, police recovered seven kilograms of ganja and arrested the narcotic smuggler, who has been identified as Behari Lal, son of Tirthi Ram, a resident of Chattisgarh, presently residing at Greater Kailash.
A case under FIR number 49/14 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gangyal police station and investigation started.
