DODA, May 9: Police today arrested a narcotic smuggler along with 60 gms charas from Jangalwar nallah, falling under the jurisdiction of Thathri police station.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan said that on specific inputs, police team from Thathri police station laid a naka near Jangalwar Nallah and intercepted a person.
During checking, police recovered 60 grams of charas and arrested the narcotic smuggler, who has been identified as Mashqoor Ahmed Sheikh, son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh of Cheera, Tehsil Thathri, SSP added.
Mr Chouhan further stated that a case under FIR number 29/14 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Thathri and investigation started.
