Narco smuggler, bootlegger arrested by Narwal police

JAMMU, Apr 27: Police today arrested a narcotic smuggler along with around 2 kilograms of charas from Transport Nagar Try Ground, falling under the jurisdiction of police post Narwal.
A police spokesman said that police party from police post Narwal while performing patrolling duty at Transport Nagar Try Ground intercepted a pedestrian namely Raj Kishore alias Dodu, son of Rama Nand Mehta of Mohalla Rakhabgang, district Pattan, at present Channi Rama on suspicious ground.
During search, police recovered 1.9 kilograms of charas and arrested the narcotic smuggler.
A case under FIR number 81/14 under Section 8/21 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Trikuta Nagar and further investigation of the case is going on.
Meanwhile, a police team from Narwal police post also arrested a bootlegger along with 50 pouches of illicit liquor.
The bootlegger has been identified as Mohinder Singh, son of Munshi Ram of Rajiv Nagar.
In this regard case stands registered at Narwal police post and investigation started.
The arrests were made by incharge police post Narwal SI Inayat Ali under the supervision of SHO Trikuta Nagar police station Chanchal Singh, DySP East Mohammad Rafiq and SP South Rahul Malik.
