Narayana Superspeciality Hospital starts treating ECHS patients

JAMMU, Jan 16: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital (SMVDNSH), Kakryal, Katra has started extending its services to the retired ex-servicemen of the Armed forces from today onwards.
Dr (Brig) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer of the SMVDNSH said that since this Hospital is now listed under ECHS empanelled hospitals, it will benefit a large number of retired armed forces personnel who earlier travelled outside the State for treatment. With this facility, SMVDNSH is now all set to serve more than one lakh people who are under the ECHS category in the region.
All necessary prerequisites for empanelment are completed and the hospital is now ready to receive the ECHS patients. The hospital is empanelled for specialty services like General Surgery, ICU and Critical Care, Blood Bank (Blood Transfusion), Laboratory Services, Clinical Pathology, Haematology, Biochemistry, Microchemistry and Serology.
The Super Specialty Services include Cardiology (Consultation and Diagnostics), Interventional Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Urology, including Dialysis and Lithotripsy, Orthopaedics surgery including Joint Replacement and Arthroscopic surgery, Endoscopic surgery, Neuro surgery, Neuro Medicine, Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, Onco-Surgery, GI surgery and Transfusion Medicine. The Radiology Diagnostic and Imaging facilities available in the SMVDNSH, Kakryal include X Ray, USG, MRI, CT and PET CT.
K S Dattatreya, Facility Director of SMVDNSH, further informed that ECHS is one such initiative that will enable all ex-servicemen of Armed forces and their families avail super speciality care.
