JAMMU, Mar 5: Narayan Singh president, Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha discussed various issues with Dr. Karan Singh former Sadar-e-Riyasat of the State and patron of Rajput Sabha at New Delhi today.
Narayan Singh apprised him about the development of Rajput Sabha Bhawan at Purani Mandi Jammu and other activities adopted by the Sabha for the welfare of the Biradari. The main activities discussed were providing of scholarships to the deserving students through Education Charitable Trust. It was also apprised that financial assistance to widows is also being provided.
The president of the Trust also apprised Dr Singh that Rajput Sabha had constructed Sabha bhawans at Samba, Kathua, Billawar, provided financial assistance to its sister biradaris such as Manhas Biradri at Paloura, Charak Biradri at Greater Kailash Jammu, Jamwal Biradri at Dansal and Bhou Biradri at Khour (Akhnoor), Jasrotia Biradri at Kathua, Lalotra Biradri at Hira Nagar Kathua etc for development of their Bhawans.
Besides, the prominent issue which came under discussion was discrimination with Jammu youth in recruitment by the J&K Service Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSRB) and J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC). Very negligible share in Government jobs is being provided to youth of Jammu province. He demanded 50: 50 shares in recruitment jobs to both the provinces of the State needs to be adopted to avoid discrimination.
The other issue discussed were growing unemployment among educated youth of border area and Kandi belt area. It was demanded that special recruitment drive in Army / Para-military force be launched to provide employment to the educated youth of the area.
Besides it was demanded that the reserved Assembly constituencies should be rotated all over the State so that weaker sections living in other constituencies of the State could also avail the benefits of reservation.
The issue of declaration of gazetted holiday on birth anniversary of late Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on September 23 each year was also discussed.
Dr Singh was also informed that Rajput Sabha had also submitted memorandum to Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister and Dineshwar Sharma, representative of Government of India in this regard but all in vain.
The issue of deportation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis which is posing a threat to the State was also discussed.
Dr. Karan Singh listened all the issues and assured Rajput Sabha president that he would take up all these issues at the appropriate forum.
