Naidu, PM pay tributes to Bhagat Singh

NEW DELHI :Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid their rich tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the Vice President said,”I join the nation in paying tributes to Bhagat Singh, a great patriot and freedom fighter on his birth anniversary today. #BhagatSingh”.
“His valor and courage and the great sacrifice made by him for the country’s freedom will continue to inspire every Indian for all times.The nation is ever grateful to the iconic nationalist.
#BhagatSingh,” Mr Naidu tweeted.
The PM said in a tweet,”Shaheed #BhagatSingh’s name is synonymous with valour and sacrifice. His courageous actions continue to motivate millions. He remains among the most popular icons in the minds of the youth. I bow to this great son of Mother India on his Jayanti.”
Bhagat Singh was an Indian socialist revolutionary whose two acts of dramatic violence against the British in India and execution at age 23 made him a folk hero of the Indian independence movement. (Agencies)
