UDHAMPUR, Oct 29: In connection with upcoming 547th Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev, an impressive Nagar Kirtan was taken out with religious fervour in the town, here today.
A large number of Sikh Sangat from Udhampur took part in the Nagar Kirtan, which passed through different bazaars of the town. During the Nagar Kirtan, the participating youth exhibited the traditional Ghatka, a form of martial art.
The Sangat, including women, youth and children took part in the impressive Nagar Kirtan, which passed through Ran Nagar Chowk, Hospital Road, Salian Talab, Chabutra Bazar, Main Bazaar, Dabar Chowk and streets of the town before its culmination at Shree Gurudawara Singh Sahib.
The Nagar Kirtan was led by Panj Piyare of Guru Sahib, who were fully decorated in traditional attire.
The whole town was fully decorated and people had arranged fruits and sweets for Sangat at many places. Sangat recited the Shabd Kirtan and also distributed Prashad among the public.
