UDHAMPUR, Sept 19: Mysterious death of one Shankar Singh of Satyalta in Ramnagar last month, has turned out to be a murder by paramour of the deceased’s wife.
Police has arrested both the accused, identified as Som Raj and Shallu Devi (wife of the deceased) while third accused in the case, person namely Mulkh Raj was absconding.
Shankar Singh, son of Hem Raj was missing since August 20 and on August 23, his dead body was found lying in the Satyalta area of Ramnagar. On this inquest proceeding U/S 174 CrPC was initiated at Police Post Ghordi
During the course of enquiry, police team of PP Ghordi headed by PSI Rhythm Sharma, assisted by Insp Pushpinder Singh, SHO PS Ramnagar under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Dr Bhishm Dubey detained some suspected persons of the area.
During sustained interrogation, one of them namely Som Raj, son of Shankar Dass of Bari, Ramnagar confessed that he alongwith his associate namely Mulkh Raj had murdered Shankar Singh after conspiring with wife of the deceased namely Shallu Devi.
Police also detained Shallu Devi and put her to sustained questioning during which it was revealed that accused Som Raj and wife of the deceased had develop illicit relationship for the last 2/3 years.
The inquest proceeding was thereafter converted into murder case and further investigation of the case is going on.
