MVD Jammu organises symposium on Road Safety

Jammu, Dec 30: The Motor Vehicles Department, Jammu in collaboration with Government College for Women, Parade , Jammu organised a Symposium competition on the topic “Road Safety: Alert today, Alive tomorrow” at GCW , Parade here today.
The chief guest of the event was Pankaj Bhagotra, RTO Jammu while Esha Chib, ARTO BoI(P) was the Guest of Honour.
The event started with a formal welcome address by the Principal of College, Dr. S.P Saraswat.
Speaking on the occasion, ARTO BOI Jammu apprised the students with Traffic rules,important sections of Motor Vehicles Act including various offences, fine and penalties. She urged them to be a responsible citizen and asked them to obey Traffic rules to ensure safety while driving on the roads.
A total of 14 participants shared their views on Road Safety. Khushi of 5th Semester won the first prize and was followed by Ananya Verma and Tamanna who bagged 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Gurpreet Kour, NSS Programme Officer,GCW Parade. MVI Jammu , Ranjeev Bhasin was also present on the occasion.
