Muslim scholar killed in road mishap, 4 injured

KATHUA, Feb 22: A member of Muslim Personnel Law Board and a well known scholar from Handwara in North Kashmir, Manzoor Ahmed Kirman died and four others were injured  in car accident that took place at Baswai Morh on National Highway here, today.
The accident took place when a car bearing registration number JK09B 0179 was on the way from Handwara, Srinagar to Delhi hit a pedestrian and then collided with road divider at Baswai Morh on National Highway Kathua. The five persons got injured and shifted to GMC Kathua.  After the first aid four car passenger were referred to GMC Jammu. One of them succumbed to his injuries at Jammu .
The deceased was identified as Manjoor Ahmed, 50, resident of Handwara a members of Muslim Personnel Law Board and a well known Muslim scholar.  The other injured were identified as Miswak, Uboot Ahmed and Anser Ahmed resident of Handwara. The pedestrian is identified as Balbir Kumar resident of Kathua. He is under treatment at GMC Kathua. Kathua police has registered a case and started investigation into the matter.
