Municipal & ULB pensioners demand increase in Medical Allowance

JAMMU, Apr 10: A meeting of Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association was held here today under the chairmanship of B S Jamwal and B D Verma to press the Government over their demands.
The Associated members reiterated long pending demand of increasing their Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 700 per month. Pointing out that Central Govt Pensioners were getting Rs 1000 per month as Medical Allowance, they appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to redress this minor issue and provide emoluments to J&K employees and pensioners at par with Central Govt employees and pensioners.
The meet also appealed to Housing & Urban Development Department of J&K UT to absorb the educated Technical/Non Technical wards of Pensioners of JMC/ULB against vacant /newly created posts.
The meeting was attended by District Presidents of the Municipal and Urban Local Bodies , who included Kartar Singh Lakhanpuria, Raghubir Singh Sambyal, Mohd Aslam Choudhary F L Spolia, Bahu-ud-Din, BD Verma, Jawahar Lal Sharma, Irshad Hussain, Kuldeep Rathore, Bholla Nath Thakur, Harcharn Singh and Tara Chand.
