Mumbai tourist drowns while rafting in Leh

SRINAGAR, July 6: A tourist from Mumbai drowned while rafting in Sangam river in Leh in Ladakh region, a police spokesperson said here today.
He said the tourist, identified as Pranab Kumar Datta, resident of Mumbai, was rafting in Sangam, when he slipped and fell into the river.
Other people present at the spot jumped into the river and took him out. Datta was immediately taken to Nimoo hospital, where he was declared brought dead, he said.
After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives.
