Multilingual Playwright Workshop concludes

JAMMU, Feb 26: Four day Multilingual Playwright Workshop organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages concluded today at KL Saigal Hall here today.
Kavi Ratan, theatre personality of the State presided over the function.
Nationally renowned theatre Directors Deepak Kumar, Pritam Katoch and Mushtaq Kak and Secretary Academy Haroon Rashid were also in the presidium.
Speaking on the concluding ceremony, Haroon Rashid, Secretary Academy said that from this year we will hold this event regularly and expand it to District level.
Speaking about the workshop Dr Javaid Rahi, Chief Editor of Academy incharge officer stated that 20 play script writers representing Kashmiri, Dogri, Gojri, Pahari, Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi participated in this event. He said that local theatre writers were also invited to attend the sessions.
Kavi Rattan in his presidential address stressed upon the play script writers to focus on regional issues.
Deepak Kumar, Director of the workshop stated that the script writers should read the contemporary plays and follow new techniques.
Dr Sudhir Mahajan, SOCA G-1 of Academy conducted the programme.
Among others present were Rajnish Gupta, Payare Hatash, Kumar A Bharti, Shiekh Azad, Parvez Malik, Hassan Parwaz, Anwar Chowdhary, Baljeet Raina, Liaqat Jafri, Sunita Budwal, Rita Khadyal, Dr Ratan Lal, Dr Chanchal Sharma, Yehshpal, etc.
