M&ULBPA expresses anguish over authorizing Treasuries to fix 7th PC benefits

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 13: Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners’ Association (M&ULBPA), Jammu province has strongly criticized Director General (DG), Local Fund Audit and Pension J&K Government for authorizing more than 100 State Government Treasuries to fix 7th Pay Commission benefits of M&ULB pensioners.
In a handout issued here today, the Association said that it is well known to the Director General that these pensioners are getting monthly pension under Cabinet Decision Order No 18-F of 2012 dated 18-01-2012 from J&K Bank branches within the State and outside their door steps likewise State Government pensioners.
“The State Government pensioners were not directed by the Director General, Accounts and Treasuries, J&K Govt, or any Financial Department to visit State Government Treasuries for fixation of the 7th PC benefits and disbursed to them in May 2018 so why the Director General is adamant to authorize the Treasuries”, the Association said.
The Association alleged that that decision taken by the Director General on its own would create problems for the uneducated Safaikaramcharis, senior citizens and sick persons and they have to waste their precious time and money to visit treasuries time to time, as it was experienced by the pensioners while fixation of arrears of 6th PC by the treasuries.
The members of the association appealed BB Vyas, Advisor to Governor, to intervene into the matter and issued directions to redress the issue at the earliest keeping in view old age and sick pensioners.
