SRINAGAR, May 29:  People’s Democratic Party (PDP) patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today conducted a tour of the Anantnag Assembly constituency and took stock of the problems faced by the people especially of rural areas.
During the tour he visited many places including TB Shah, Munward, Pushwara, Hanjidanter, Monghal Lalan, Pethbugh, Dialgam, Gund Fatehpora and Kabamarg and interacted with the locals and listened to their problems. At some places he announced grant from his constituency development fund to cater to the needs of the people of those areas.
At Pushwara, people demanded to open a veterinary unit and construction of a playing field.
Mufti assured the people that he had a futuristic vision for the historic Anantnag town and the rural areas adjacent to it. He expressed concern that the development process started by the previous Government had been stopped and as a result the people were facing problems pertaining to power, drinking water, roads and other civic amenities.
Mufti held detailed discussions with the workers and common people about the problems being faced by them. He said while the party would try to put pressure on the administration to resolve issues of immediate nature but for a long term they might have to wait for a change in the Government.
The anti people policies of the present State Government have turned the entire population against it, Mufti said, adding the Government is neither willing nor able to address the problems faced by the people.
