Mufti condemns attack on Kulkarni in Mumbai

SRINAGAR :  Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has strongly condemned the attack on former BJP leader Sudheendra Kulkarni, whose face was smeared with black paint in Mumbai, ahead of a book launch function.
Terming the attack on Mr Kulkarni as unfortunate, Mr Sayeed said the ”hawkish attitude” of certain fringe elements cannot be allowed to shrink the space for freedom of expression.
He said politics of hate has no place in a country like India.  Those who think they can resort to political hooliganism and get away with it are living in a fool’s paradise, he said, while expressing solidarity with Mr Kulkarni.
Well-known political analyst Kulkarni was attacked by activists of Shiv Sena yesterday,  hours ahead of the launch of a book written by former Pakistan minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri. (UNI)
