JAMMU, May 12: Stating that Mubarak Mandi Heritage Project has been completely neglected by the Government, Citizen’s Forum today emphasized that it needs immediate attention as this old structure has started crumbling at certain places.
President of the Forum, R K Chadha, said that the Mubarak Mandi was started in 2011 and till date it is in dilapidated conditions. He said that this Project is not the job of political committees formed with yes men of the Government and also the Government officers.
“On our demand, last year a sum of Rs 60 crore was sanctioned and more money is also available but it needs professionals in reshaping and renovating mega historical buildings of this special kind from national and international market,” he added.
Chadha requested the LG GC Murmu that along with this Mubarak Mandi Project, Ranbir Singh High School building should also be converted in to a heritage building as this building is becoming a dump yard for Municipal Authorities and other good citizens of Jammu. A magnificent building constructed on the pattern of European school architecture by Maharajas.
