MTWA discusses problems

JAMMU, June 14: Executive body of Migrant Teachers Welfare Association Jammu in its meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of its president Ramesh Raina discussed the various problems of migrant teachers threadbare.
The meeting reiterated its demand of shifting the migrant schools of Satwari and Shastri Nagar to those localities which are inhibited by migrants like Gangyal and Janipur as was done earlier in case of migrant schools of Bakshi Nagar.
The meeting demanded timely issuance of properly maintained GPF account schedules in favour of the migrant employees as they are being maintained manually and huge variations had been witnessed in the previous schedules issued by Fund Organisation. The demand of computerization of accounts was reiterated in the meeting.
The meeting made a fervent appeal to Commissioner Secretary to Education demanding cancellation of the transfer orders of four migrant principals who have recently been transferred to far flung areas despite the fact that they have already served in hard zones like Leh and Doda. The meeting expressed its concern over the dearth of subject specialized teachers in the camp schools as these teachers upon their promotion as lecturers are being transferred to other schools leaving the migrant schools to suffer. It demanded transfer of these lecturers to camp schools.
