JAMMU, Apr 30: A three-day capacity building programme on the implementation of MSME Health Clinics concluded at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu today, aiming to strengthen the micro, small and medium enterprises ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
The programme, which began on April 28, was organized in collaboration with the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, and focused on equipping officials with practical knowledge and strategies for effective rollout of MSME Health Clinics across the Union Territory.
The valedictory ceremony was presided by Prof Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty & Research and Programme Director, IIM Jammu. Dr Ateeque Sheikh, Chairperson Research, IIM Jammu, and Dr Jaganth G, Programme Director also graced the ceremony.
Around 40 participants from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir attended the training, which included technical sessions, discussions and case-based learning.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research and Programme Director, IIM Jammu said the initiative marked the beginning of a larger effort to strengthen the MSME sector in the region.
He described MSME Health Clinics as a collaborative platform that would help diagnose issues in enterprises and provide structured solutions.
He also noted that similar initiatives are being explored in other states, which would help in sharing best practices and improving outcomes.
Dr Jaganth G, Programme Director, presented a detailed report, highlighting key learning outcomes and active participation by officials.
He expressed confidence that the training would enhance the professional capabilities of participants and enable them to contribute effectively to the development of the MSME sector in the Union Territory.
Dr Ateeque Sheikh, Chairperson Research, underlined the critical role of MSMEs in economic growth, employment generation and entrepreneurship.
He urged participants to focus on creating tangible impact through their work and to use the knowledge gained during the programme for the benefit of local enterprises.
Participants appreciated the programme for its practical approach and relevant content, stating that the sessions helped improve their understanding of MSME-related challenges and solutions.
They also praised the academic environment at IIM Jammu and expressed interest in attending similar programmes in future.
Certificates were distributed to all participants at the end of the programme.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of the Industries and Commerce Department, faculty members and organisers in making the programme successful, followed by the National Anthem.
