MSJK demands liquor ban in J&K

JAMMU, Feb 17: Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) has urged CM Omar Abdullah to pass a Bill in J&K Assembly to ban the sale of liquor in J&K like it has been banned in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and many other States.
Addressing a press conference here today, MSJK president, Sunil Dimple threatened to start an agitation if the demand to ban wine shops in Jammu city and also at Katra is not announced.
He said that after the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, BJP Government made Liquor Policy to loot poor people of Jammu and with the use of Police force about 300 wine shops were opened in Jammu amidst public protests.
Dimple also appealed BJP MLAs to support the Bill in Assembly for a ban on the sale of liquor in J&K.
He also demanded start of Darbar Move practice from this April and said that the Chief Minister should provide free drinking water, free 200 units of electricity, 12 LPG cylinders, double ration supply from March this year to the people of J&K. Bishan Das, Sudershan Sharma, Mohan Lal, Sanjay Sharma, Bram Data were also present in the press conference.
