MPs breach trust of people: Hamid

JAMMU, Mar 18: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and co-ordinator for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that majority of Members of Parliament (MPs) from Jammu and Kashmir have breached the trust of people and jeopardised development of far flung areas of State by underutilizing MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) funds meant for development of their respective constituencies.
The laxity on the part of MPs of both the houses has not only forced Central Government to withhold Rs 41 crore but development in far off places of the State has also been marred. Underutilization of funds by none other than Union Ministers of National Conference (NC) and Congress besides J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief are their sheer breach of trust with people and neglect of constitutional obligations.
The insincerity on the part of these political leaders is that they still intend to contest elections to both houses. Choudhary Hamid urged people to access the credibility of these leaders who, without spending money meant for development of their respective constituencies, are seeing re-elections from Srinagar-Budgam, Kathua-Udhampur Lok Sabha seats and other Parliamentary constituencies including upper house.
