MPEJ seeks action against defaulters

JAMMU, Apr 25: Movement for Peace, Equality and Justice (MPEJ) has appealed to the Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the rising accident cases and take stern action against concerned authorities.
While expressing grief over yesterday’s mini-bus accident at Piyakul in which 5 persons lost their lives and 11 other were injured, Ram Singh Chauhan and Kuldeep Kumar Rao, active members of MPEJ have appealed to Governor to immediately release Rs 5 lakh as ex-gratia relief in favour of kins of poor deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the injured persons.
They also expressed concern over the increasing road accidents due to overloading of the vehicles viz bad conditions of the roads.
They appealed to the Governor to look seriously into all irregularities which are leading to road accidents and take stern action against the defaulters.
“The outdated vehicles should be immediately banned from plying on the roads and traffic sleuths should be directed to not compromise with the drivers regarding overloading”, they demanded.
