MP visits border villages in Nowshera, assures redressal of problems

JAMMU, July 5: Member Parliament (MP) Jammu-Poonch constituency  Madan Lal Sharma conducted an extensive tour of various border villages in Nowshera.
MP visited Mangla Devi, Chowki and Sair Makdi, where he interacted with the people and listened to their demands.  The people apprised MP about the problems being faced by them including shortage of drinking water, pensions and road connectivity.
Sarpanchs while raising demands said that BADP plan is approved without consulting them and some works are in violation of the guidelines of BADP. They expressed displeasure with Government and voiced that on one side Government claims that 14 Departments and schemes like BADP will be developed in consultation with Panchayats but on ground Sarpanchs were not consulted.
Sharma while speaking asked the officers to prepare BADP plans in consultation with Panchayats as per the directions of the Government. He assured the people that he will take up the issue in board meetings as well as with Government.
He briefed the people about the programmes and mandate of UPA Government and termed the Central Government policies as pro poor and passing of food security ordinance as a step in this direction.
MP asked the PHE officers to provide water tanker for two months and to propose a scheme for Mangla Devi which will provide water to the area. He also directed XEn PWD to immediately under take the patch work of the road. He asked the officers to improve and provide water and road connectivity in Chowki and Sair Makdi villages.
Among others present were Kuldeep Raj Verma, Vice Chairman OBC, Rajinder Sharma, Subash Sharma, Pushpinder Gupta, Chander Mohan, Sahil Sharma, Bindu, Puran Lal, Inderjeet, Vijay Choudhary, etc.
