MP inaugurates Health Club

UDHAMPUR, OCT 08 : Member Parliament, Ch Lal Singh today inaugurated newly constructed Cricket Pitch, Race track and Health Club of the College constructed with a cost of Rs. 6.00 lakh funded by the University Grants Commission under Sports Development Programme during his visit to  Govt. Degree College (Boys) Udhampur.
On the occasion, the MP also dedicated a newly purchased bus out of MPLAD Funds to the students of the College. He also inaugurated a Certificate course in Computer concepts to be organized by the IQAC of the College sponsored by Dept. of Science and Technology and conducted by National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (DOEACC).
Addressing the students, staff and members of civil society, the Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the current College administration for an admirable infrastructure upliftment in the field of sports, academics, student amenities and hoped that the College would lead in every sphere in future.
Earlier the Principal Dr. Nutan Kumar Resutra in his welcome address expressed his gratefulness to the Chief Guest for his whole-hearted support to the development of the College. He also made a power point presentation of the College development since 2010.
Students presented patriotic group song and a Dogri folk song.  Mementoes, prizes, incentives and certificates were also distributed among the students who had excelled in various University level events.
An on-the-spot race competition was also organized on the newly constructed Race Track; Surjeet Singh, Mohinder Singh & Inderjeet Singh got the first, second & third prizes respectively. Prof Sudhir Singh conducted the proceedings and proposed the formal vote of thanks.
