KARGIL, July 14, : In order to augment the telecommunication infrastructure in Zanskar, Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal today inaugurated 5 Jio mobile telecommunication towers in Zanskar and dedicated them to the general public.
The mobile towers have been erected at Raru, Itcher and Cha village of Lungnak Block and Sani, Stongday villages of Zanskar Block.
Councilor Cha Constituency Stanzin Lakpa, Nominated Councilor Stanzin Chosgyal, Area Development Officer/SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay, BDC Chairperson Karsha Lobzang Namgyal, General Manager Reliance Jio Ladakh Circle Rigzin Angmo besides other concerned officers were present during the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal said that this will remarkably help student community who have suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic and are dependent on online classes.
MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal assured that rest of the towers sanctioned for Zanskar Sub Division will be erected and made functional by end of this working season.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the people Zanskar, Councilor Cha Stanzin Lakpa expressed gratitude to the MP Ladakh and General Manager Rigzin Angmo Jio mobile telecommunication for establishment of mobile connectivity in far off places of Zanskar like Lungnak and other villages.
