Moungri Mela concludes, witnesses overwhelming participation of devotees

UDHAMPUR:   Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda visited the historic Moungri Mela and paid obeisance at Lord Shiva Parvati cave, and prayed for well-being of the state.

The religious event, which concluded here today, witnessed an overwhelming participation of devotees from various parts of the state.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that these fairs symbolize our identity and diverse culture besides promoting pilgrim tourism with huge employment generation.

Ajay Nanda said that the area has huge potential of eco-tourism and efforts are on to develop the historic destination with all necessary facilities so that an increased tourist influx is attracted here. He assured that the area would get huge infrastructural development so that the people will be facilitated with comfortable and convenient pilgrimage and visit to this religious spot.

Besides, the Minister appreciated the cultural programmes presented by the students and the artists on the occasion. He also congratulated the District administration and Mela Committee members for the successful conduct of the mela.
