JAMMU, Oct 22: A motorcyclist was killed today in a road accident occurred at Kunjwani Chowk in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a speeding truck being driven by Gurdev Singh son of Daya Ram, resident of Gho Manhasa, Jammu, this afternoon hit a bike and seriously injured its rider namely Dileep (35) son of Kartara, resident of Deeli (Sainik Colony) and pillion, Mohan Singh son of Hari Ram of Deeli, at Kunjwani Chowk.
“The injured persons were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he died during treatment after some time while condition of Hari Ram was stable,” he said, adding, the body of the deceased was sent for postmortem while a case FIR No 116/2019 under Sections 279/337/304 A RPC was registered at police station Gangyal.
The official said that both the vehicles involved in the accident were seized and the accused truck driver arrested.
