KATHUA, Aug 27: A motorcyclist was killed after hit by a truck at Khanpur this afternoon. He was identified as Anil Sharma, 33, S/o Mohan Lal of Mukandpur, Rajbagh in district Kathua.
Reports said that Anil was travelling on his bike bearing Registration Number PB06AL-9269 and it was hit by a truck bearing Registration Number JK08D0278 at Khanpur this afternoon resulting the instant death of motorcyclist.
The driver fled after the accident but the truck was seized by Rajbagh police which has launched a manhunt to arrest the driver. The dead body of the youth was taken to District Hospital Kathua for postmortem and later it was handed over to family for last rites by the police. Rajbagh police has also registered a case under relevant sections of the law against the truck driver.
