UDHAMPUR, Aug 14: A motorcyclist along with a pillion rider died when their bike was hit by truck near Prem Mandir on the National Highway, here last night.
The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Sadotra (33), son of Hem Raj and Vishal Dutt (22), son of Girdhari Lal, both residents of Jaganoo Udhampur.
According to the police report, the accident took place late last evening when a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AS-2250, on its way from Ramban towards Udhampur, hit a motorcycle JK14H-4675 at Dingi Pully, Prem Mandir on the National Highway.
In the accident, motorcyclist along with the pillion rider were critically injured and Chenani Police shifted them to CHC Chenani were doctors referred them to DH Udhampur. Rakesh Kumar succumbed to injuries at DH Udhampur. Vishal Dutt was further referred to GMC Hospital Jammu where he also succumbed to his injuries.
In this connection, Chenani Police registered the case FIR number 142/2022, under Section 279/337 IPC and started further investigation. Even as driver of the truck had fled from the site immediately after the accident, Police has seized the truck.
