SAMBA, Feb 3: A motorcyclist was killed while his pillion rider was seriously injured in a road accident that took place in Rajpura, a border village of district Samba, today.
According to police, the car JK21G-1347 and the motorcycle-PB06R-2200 coming from opposite directions collided with each other, after which both the people on the motorcycle were seriously injured. Both the injured were brought to the District Hospital Samba with the help of local people and police. However the motorcyclist died during treatment, while the other person was given first aid and was referred to the GMC Jammu for better treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Shiv Ram resident of Rajpura Colony, Samba and the injured person has been identified as Som Nath, son of Thoru Ram, resident of Rajpura. The police has registered a case in this regard and has started further investigation.
