Mother-son killed, 9 injured

RAMBAN, May 8: A woman and her minor son were killed while nine others injured today when the Tavera vehicle they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Shaitani nallah, here.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14B-4248 was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into 40-feet deep gorge near Shaitani nallah early this morning, resulting into on the spot death of woman and her minor son and injuries to 9 others.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured persons were shifted to Emergency Hospital Banihal, where they were responding to the treatment, when reports last came in.
The deceased have been identified as Nisha Rani, wife of Ajay Kumar of Kunjwani, Jammu and her son Kartik Singh.
The injured have been identified as Ajay Kumar (driver), son of Ram Dutta of Kunjwani, Rakesh Kumar and Ramandeep, sons of Sat Pal of Pathankot, Jasvinder Singh, son of Maan Singh of Punjab, Tirath Bandhan, Laxmi, wife of Vikram Singh, Manisha, daughter of Vikram Singh, Sakesh Sharma, son of Billawar Singh of Bantalab and Vikram, son of Gopal of Nepal.
Concerned police has taken cognizance in this regard.
