SAMBA, Mar 21: Students and people residing in Kathua and Samba districts want strong lesson to Pakistan after two terror incidents in past 24 hours, in which 5 persons including 3 security personnel were killed and 12 others were injured.
After two consecutive terror incidents and that too in the morning hours, the people, students and their parents living in Kathua and Samba districts are under fear and say that India must teach Pakistan a strong lesson and should initiate some necessary measures against Pakistan, which is carrying out the terror incidents at the behest of militant groups active in their country.
A group of students and their parents in an interaction with Excelsior said that the morning time terror incidents at police station Hiranagar in 2013, police station Rajbagh yesterday and near army camp at Samba today, has created fear among them.
“Morning time, students can be the target of militants and Indian Government should not indulge in talks with Pakistan but should pass a strong message, so that neighbouring country should stop carrying out terror activities,’’ they said.
“Who does not want peace, but every now and then Pakistan is targeting innocent people by indulging in terror incidents and we are becoming the victim of Pakistani aggression”, said Rakesh Singh, a resident of Badwani Supply Morh area in district Samba.
He added that the people are fed up with the cat and mouse game and wanted India to settle the issue once and for all, so that the people could live without fear and carry out their routine work.
He stated that the militants carried out two attacks in last 24 hours and still the Central and State Government are just passing warning messages to Pakistan. India should take strict action against Pakistan, he added.
Sahil Mehra, a student of class 9th and a resident of district Kathua said that the people living in Kathua and Samba districts too deserve a peaceful life. “Now it’s time for India to settle the score once and for all and teach Pakistan a strong lesson,’’ he added.
For the past few years, the people reaped the fruits of the ceasefire after both the countries agreed for it in 2003. However, the peace did not last long as Pakistan started indulging in terror activities and ceasefire violations, thus, creating fear among the people, Monu Sharma, a resident of Jatwal area in district Samba said.
“We started to live peacefully again after both the countries agreed for a ceasefire. We worked in our fields without any fear, but for the past few years since the Pakistani side started violating the ceasefire we have again become the sitting ducks for Pakistan”, he added.
“Not only ceasefire violations, the Pakistan is also indulging in carrying out terror activities with militants entering inside the Indian territory by cutting the fence or by some other means and the Central as well as State Government should look into the matter seriously”, Gautam, a student said.
The people and students blamed successive State Governments for not taking the terror activities being carried out by Pakistan seriously, thus pitting the lives of people at risk.
“We don’t demand land and compensation, but a peaceful atmosphere where we can live without fear”, Shallu Devi, a resident of district Samba near today’s encounter site said.
The State and Central Governments only indulge in speeches and does not take some harsh steps to teach Pakistan a lesson for carrying out terror activities in J&K, she added.
Some necessary action is needed to curb the wings of terror, which Pakistan is spreading in India through terror groups, she stated.
It is to mention that, in two terror incidents in past 24 hours, 5 people including three security personnel were killed and 12 others got injured. Meanwhile, the security forces gunned down four militants and recovery large quantity of arms and ammunition from their possession.
