SRINAGAR: More than six security force personnel were injured when militants attacked their vehicle at Pampore in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Srinagar-Jammu national highway this afternoon.
Official sources said militants attacked a security force vehicle near Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) at Pampore on the highway.
They said more than six security personnel were injured. Security forces also retaliated. Militants have reportedly entered EDI, they said, adding intermittent firing was going on in the area.
More than 100 employees of the EDI and civilians are trapped inside the EDI building. Traffic on the highway has been diverted but large number of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the highway.
