More PDP, Cong leaders, kin, businessmen encroached land

Got discounts worth several lakh

JAMMU, Nov 28: The administration today came out with more lists in which names of prominent political leaders and their kin, mainly from PDP and Congress, and some businessmen figured who had encroached State land and availed benefits under Roshni Scheme with some of them getting discounts running into several lakh while others paid just peanuts for regularization of encroached land.
In Samba district, Sanjeev Sharma son of former Congress MLA Parkash Sharma got regularized three kanals of land at Nandni under Roshni Scheme for Rs 7.2 lakh but paid just Rs 3.6 lakh and was given Rs 50 percent discount.
Bikram Malhotra, a Congress leader who had contested 2014 Assembly elections from Jammu City East and is son of former Legislative Council Chairman Amrit Malhotra got 17 kanals five marlas of land regularized at Palth for Rs 6.9 lakh but paid just Rs 1725 and was granted Rs 6.87 lakh discount. Bikram’s brother Aditya Malhotra too got 17 kanals six marlas of land regularized at Palth for Rs 1730. His due amount was also Rs 6.92 lakh but was granted Rs 6.87 lakh discount.
One Sehdev Singh, a farmer sold 20 kanals of land to Sahil Mahajan son of Sneh Gupta, prominent businessman and brother of late Congress MP Janak Raj Gupta at Birpur. Cost of the land was assessed at Rs 1.12 crore but he paid Rs 90 lakh and get Rs 22 lakh discount.
A businessman Sudhir Khurana of MVI School got 25 kanals of land regularized under Roshni at Salmeri.
SL Gulati of National Garages Jammu got three kanals nine marlas Nazool land regularized for Rs 94 lakh but paid just Rs 70 lakh thereby getting discount of Rs 24 lakh.
Former PDP MLA Nizam-ud-Din Khatana was beneficiary of eight kanals land regularization other than Roshni at Sunjwan while Sajad Choudhary, a businessman got 20 kanals State land regularized in Jammu other than Roshni. Mohammad Majeed, a Tehsildar too got regularized 17 kanals and nine marlas land at Panjgrain.
Gulzar Ahmad, a Class-IV employee in Education Department, who is relative of former PDP MLA from Wachi Aijaz Ahmad Mir got two marlas land regularized for just Rs 11.67.
