More donations pour in to support fight against COVID-19

JAMMU, Apr 20: A delegation of Joint Action Committee of Graduate Engineering Associations (J&K Civil Engineering Graduates Association & J&K Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association) today handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the Advisor to Lt Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar as a contribution to J&K Relief Fund to fight the spread of COVID-19 in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The delegation was led by Farooq Ahmed, president JK Civil Engineering Graduates Association and it included Firdous Ahmad Bhat (president, J&K Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association) and Ashaq Ahmad Ashaq, (secretary, JK Civil Engineering Graduates Association).
The Executive Committee of Amar Singh Club Jammu donated a sum of 4 lakh towards the PM Cares Fund through a cheque which was handed over to Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma by Hony Secretary of the Club Vijay Saraf. Further, the Management Committee also handed over a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to the Indian Red Cross Society, for procuring the ration and other essential items for the poor and needy people of the society.
A cheque of Rs 3 lakh in favour of PM CARES Fund was handed over by Choudhury Sukhnandan (ex MLA Marh) to Ravinder Raina (BJP J&K president) at party office, Trikuta Nagar. On the occasion, Choudhury Sukhnandan said that till date he has handed over cheques amounting to Rs 8 lakh. The amount was collected by him through his friends and voters of Marh block, he added.
Senior BJP leader and Advocate Abhinav Sharma (President of Bar Association, Jammu) contributed Rs 1.51 lakh towards PM CARES Fund while Devraj Gupta, father of Martyr Capt Tushar Mahajan donated Rs 51000 towards in connection with Tushar’s birthday.
Prabhandak Committee, Kheer Bhawani Asthapan Manzgam, Kulgam (at present Jammu) donated Rs 61,111 to PM CARES Fund while as Sat Pal Singh Jamwal of Gurah Bakshi Nagar, Jammu contributed Rs 21000 and Kuljeet Singh Jamwal and Ashok Kumar Gupta of Gurah Bakshi Nagar donated Rs 11000 each. They handed over cheques to Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, JMC.
Hemis Cultural Welfare Society, Hemis Gonpa handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the Commissioner/Secretary Health, Ladakh UT, Rigzin Samphel, towards LG Relief Fund while a venerable monk of Thiksay village Ven Gaishais Jamyang Khenrap Tsopa handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 through Sonam Tsering Tsopa.
A senior citizen of Chuchot Shamma village Tsering Kunfel, Stabgyatpa donated a sum of Rs 60,000 through his grandson Tsering Tashi while senior citizens of Diskit Tsal Housing Colony Rigzin Angmo donated Rs 20,000 and Sonam Landol donated Rs 10,000 towards LG Relief Fund of UT Ladakh.
