JAMMU, Mar 22: Not only Congress candidate Madan Lal Sharma, three BJP and some other candidates in fray also have huge movable and immovable assets running into crores.
BJP candidate from Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary constituency Dr Jitendra Singh, a medical practitioner, who had given up his job as Government Medical College Professor to join BJP and is contesting first election of his career, has shown his total income in 2013-14 income tax return as Rs 8.92 lakh and that of his wife as Rs 1.92 lakh.
In an affidavit submitted to the Returning Officer while filing his nomination paper, Dr Singh revealed that has total cash, FDRs, other deposits with different banks and 40 tolas gold totaling Rs 88.22 lakh while his wife has similar amount to the tune of Rs 65.42 lakh. His wife has 50 tolas gold.
Dr Singh has share in joint landed property at village Malhori including 15.05 kanals orchard with a value of Rs 33 lakh, a shop at Auqaf commercial complex, a JDA plot at Sector 3, Trikuta Nagar. He has valued his immovable assets at Rs 2.31 crores.
BJP president and Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha candidate Jugal Kishore Sharma has total investments in bank, insurance, gold and Himgiri Infrastructure Private Limited, Himachal Pradesh worth Rs 64.50 lakh while his wife Usha Sharma has similar investments to the tune of Rs 15.28 lakh including 42 tolas of gold valued at Rs 12.6 lakh.
He has other assets including self acquired worth Rs 34.50 lakh and inherited worth Rs 48.50 lakh while his wife his self acquired assets to the tune of Rs 12 lakh.
BJP covering candidate for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat Kavinder Gupta has cash in bank accounts, hand, gold and other investments including investment in Himgiri Infrastructure Private Limited, Himachal Pradesh worth Rs 63.97 lakh while his wife Bindu Gupta has investments worth Rs 16.20 lakh including 45 tolas of gold valued at Rs 13.5 lakh.
Mr Gupta’s immovable assets were valued at Rs 1.43 crores.
Socialist Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Gursagar Singh Ishar has Rs 1.65 crores worth immovable assets while his total investments were to the tune of Rs 25.25 lakh. The assets of his spouse included Rs 5.15 lakh including 150 grams of gold worth Rs 4.5 lakh.
BSP candidate from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat Dharam Pal Balgotra has immovable assets worth Rs 1.37 crores while his wife Madhu Bala Balgotra, who has also filed her nomination as covering candidate of BSP has Rs 13.20 lakh worth immovable assets. Investments of Mr Balgotra in banks etc were to the tune of Rs 11.61 lakh including 150 grams gold worth Rs 4.5 lakh while the investments of his wife included Rs 7.76 lakh including 250 grams gold worth Rs 7.5 lakh.
Mr Balgotra has property outside the State including a shop at Shipra Shopping Plaza, Indrapuram at Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) and a flat at Royal Tower, Shipra Sin City Indrapuram along with his son Ajay Balgotra, another blat with daughter Seema Balgotra.
