JAMMU, Sept 27: More organizations and individuals have condemned yesterday’s twin terror attack on Hiranagar Police Station and Army camp Samba in which a Lt Colonel, 4 cops, three terrorists among 13 were killed.
Yesterday’s act of violence was aimed at obstructing the peace talks between India and Pakistan, said a statement jointly issued by Mohd Yousaf Tarigami, Hakim Mohd Yasin, Sheikh Abdul Rehman, Abdul Rashid Kabuli, Muzaffar Shah, I D Khajuria, Abdul Rehman Takru and Sanjay Saraf.
Condemning the twin terrorist attack, these leaders expressed sympathies with the families of all those who fell victim to the cowardly act but maintained that the peace efforts should not be held hostage to the forces inimical to friendly relations between the two countries.
However, RSS Sanghchalak Brig Suchet Singh while condemning the twin attack, stressed that there should be no talks with Pakistan unless and until the neighbouring country stops abetting and sponsoring terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. India should talk to Pakistan in a tit-for-tat language and destroy the terror camps being operated from other side of the border for which a free hand should be given to the Army, the RSS leader said.
Associated Chamber of Traders Federation has condemned the terror incident and made an appeal to the Government that all possible measures should be taken immediately to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in J&K. A meeting of the Federation was held under the chairmanship of Yash Paul Gupta wherein sympathies were also expressed with the families of terror incident victims.
Jammu State Morcha has expressed its condemnation on the terror attack as well as reaction of the mainstream political parties, which were favouring continuation of peace talks at any cost. Merely talks with enemy do not yield any result and need of the hour is that India must reply Pakistan in tit for tat language, said JSM leaders Prof Varinder Gupta, H B Khajuria, Nathu Ram Gupta and Chandra Uday Sharma.
A meeting of District Congress Committee, Samba, was held under the chairmanship of Ex-MLA Parkash Sharma for condemning the twin terror attack and expressing sympathy with the families of those killed in the incident. Parkash Sharma appealed the Government to provide adequate ex-gratia to the bereaved families and take elaborate measures for fool proof security in the State.
The Jammu and Kashmir Gujjars United Front has strongly condemned the twin militant attacks and said that the act was an attempt to stall the dialogue between the Prime Minister of India and Pakistan in the UN General Assembly meeting. In a statement, the Front president Shah Mohd Chowdhary stressed the need strengthening security arrangements in the whole State so that the nefarious designs of disruptive elements are thwarted.
An emergency meeting of Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) was held under the chairmanship of the Prof Ram Murti Sharma for condemning the twin terror attack and expressing sympathy with the victim families. KVM appealed to the State and Union Government to adopt a solid and concrete policy to check such incidents in future.
Condemning the terror attack, Duggar Pradesh Party has strongly criticized the UPA Government for its failure to protect boundaries of the country, life and property of the people of India. The Party president Uday Chand stressed that India should teach Pakistan a lesson in a tit for tat language and destroy all terrorist camps in the neighbouring country instead of making videography of the same.
Dasmeash Youth Sikh Organization, Poonch, held a meeting under the chairmanship of Gurpreet Singh and strongly condemned the yesterday’s terrorist attack alleging that the act was an attempt to sabotage the peace talks between India and Pakistan.
J&K National Party president Dr Randeep Singh Parihar condemned the attack and said that terrorism should be crushed with iron hand by giving more powers to Army and security forces.
All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference has strongly condemned the twin terror attacks in Samba and Hiranagar. Calling it as a shameful act against the humanity, AJKPC general secretary Anil Sharma demanded adequate relief for families of the attack victims.
To express solidarity with the families of two civilians killed in yesterday’s terrorist attack, a group of JKDF senior leaders led by State president Anil Gupta today visited the Hiranagar and shared grief with the bereaved families. The group also visited the Hiranagar Police Station and termed the attack as a result of security lapse and soft approach of the Government to tackle the menace of terrorism.
JKDF as a mark of solidarity with the families of victims, distributed Rs 20000/- each to the next of kin of those killed in the attack.
A meeting of the District Congress Committee Kissan Mazdoor Cell Udhampur was held under the leadership of Syed Peer Gulzar Shah and condemned the Pakistani sponsored terrorist attack. Mr Shah demanded that Pakistan should be declared a terrorist State.
Sudarshan Choudhary, general secretary and spokesperson of NCP strongly condemned the terrorist attack and demands enquiry to establish how the terrorist managed to cover a distance of 30 kms approximately without getting noticed by the security agencies.
Association for Welfare of Senior Citizens in an emergency meeting of the executive committee, strongly condemned the cowardly attack by terrorists and said that there should be not talks with Pakistan, which was sponsoring terror in India. Our leaders have to think twice before going for such dramas and our security forces must also do more of planning and preparedness to check such failures, the Association said.
Members of Purani Mandi Welfare Association under the leadership of Th Kamal Singh Jamwal held a protest demonstration against terror attack on Samba Army camp and Hiranagar Police Station.
The protesters torched Pakistani flag and raised slogans against the Government for its failure on the security front. Two- minute silence was also observed to pay homage to the Army personnel, cops and civilians who attained martyrdom in the attack.
