JAMMU, Nov 1: The second day of the Surana & Surana National Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition (North Rounds) 2025-26, hosted by the Department of Law, University of Jammu (JU), witnessed an eventful series of rounds.
The day commenced with Witness Briefing for Preliminary Round 1 and Judges’ Orientation Session at the Department of Law. Preliminary Rounds 1 and 2 brought forth keenly contested arguments and persuasive trial presentations by the participating teams from across northern India.
The rounds were adjudged by Senior Advocates and Advocates including Dinesh Chouhan, Deepali Kapoor, Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, Aditya Gupta, Basit Keng, Mohinder Singh Charak, Rohit Bhagat, Meenakshi Slathia, Dheeraj Nanda, Damini Chouhan, Nitin Parihar, Neeharika Kapoor, Hussain Ahmed Sadeequi, Mehrukh Syedan, Sachin Dogra, Sourabh Gupta, Minoo Sharma and Pranav Jain.
After Felicitation of Judges, results of the preliminary rounds were announced and out of 18 teams, 8 were selected for Quarter Finals. The session also included the Draw of Lots for the Quarter Finals and Exchange of Memorials.
The Quarter Final rounds were adjudged by retired District and Session Judges including Subash Gupta, Jafar Hussain Baig, Zubair Ahmed Raza and Senior Advocate and Advocates Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, Ranjit Singh, Dinesh Chouhan, Seema Khajooria Shekhar and Pawan Dev Singh.
On the basis of quarter-final rounds, 4 teams were selected by adjudicators for the semi-final rounds.
The day concluded with the witness briefing for semi-final rounds, setting the stage for the high-stakes semi-finals on the following day.
