Monitoring disposal of DO letters: Govt to set up cells

JAMMU, Nov 22: To monitor the disposal of VIP communications and DO letters, the State Government has asked all the Administrative Secretaries to set up a cell in their respective department.
It is impressed upon all Administrative Secretaries to set up a cell in their department to monitor the disposal of VIP communications/ DO letters/ communication received from Government of India, Governor’s Secretariat/ Chief Minister’s Secretariat/ Ministers/ MPs/ MLAs/ MLCs, says a Government circular, issued today by the General Administration Department.
The incharge of the Cell shall ensure that response, whenever required, is sent by the concerned department to the concerned ministers in the Government of India/ Governor’s Secretariat/ Chief Minister’s office, within fixed timelines, the circular further says with instructions to all the Administrative Secretaries for strict compliance and responding to the GAD within one week.
The issue of disposal of VIP communications/DO letters, etc came under discussion in the CoS meeting, held recently and it was observed that no such  effective mechanism  has been put in place to monitor disposal of these communications and replies to the concerned ministries.
